Smart911 allows for emergency dispatchers to view essential information about a person, and his/her family, to inform emergency responders about what to expect when they arrive on scene to an emergency. Things like certain medications, restrictions to properties, security access, dogs, and any other type of information to help responders effeciently and effectively help in any type of emergency.
Leelanau County residents may signup free to create a Smart911 profile and fill out the information so it can be readily available to emergency responders when a call comes in from the phone number associated with their profile registered in the system.
Benzie County is currently working on subscribing to the system and information will be released throughout media when residents can sign up.
