Playgroups and Events

Playgroup

Social connections go far beyond not feeling “lonely,” but rather they are the conduits of healthy childhood development. Positive social connections with people at all stages of life help ensure healthy development, both physically and emotionally. Parenting Communities playgroups and events are a chance for families to get to know other families in the community through play and social connections.

What is a playgroup?

No pre-registration is required for most of our playgroups. Playgroups are typically one hour in length and include play, snack, and story time. Children may explore a variety of activities together that support growth and development. Special opportunities may be offered on occasion such as family yoga, music, arts & crafts, seasonal activities, and sharing local resources. All families with children ages 0-6 are welcome! Playgroups are offered on multiple days and locations throughout the county each week. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on the playgroup schedule. We hope to see you at a playgroup soon!

Community Events

Come join the fun and get to know other local families while doing fun activities designed for young children.  Some examples from the past year are Mindful and Musical with Miriam Pico event with singing and dancing; Parenting Communities Street Fair with loads of fun activities, food, and giveaways; and our Harvest Fest and Holiday Gatherings where we celebrated the

change of seasons with crafts, treats, and a visit from Santa! Pre-registration is required for our Community Events, to help us plan.

Families Together

A monthly gathering for families and those interested in the early childhood years to share and explore topics related to early childhood development, parenting, and our collective well-being.

This series is best experienced by attending every session, as sessions will build upon each other. Each session will take place on the 2nd Monday of the month from September 11, 2023 through May 13, 2024, and will include dinner, a family activity, and childcare during the parent/caregiver discussions. You have the option to register for the entire series or individual sessions based on your preference.

Please arrive between 5:15-5:30pm for dinner followed by a family activity and group discussion (childcare provided for children's playgroup while families meet and discuss the topic of the evening). All of the dates are:

  • May 13, 2024
