Hearing and VisionThe health department offers free hearing and vision screenings for all children.
Who is eligible for free hearing and vision screening?
Hearing and vision screening is available for children 3-18 years of age.
In partnership with our schools, our Hearing and Vision Technicians provide school-based screening for preschool and school-age students for the following age groups:
Preschool, Kindergarten and grades 1, 3, 5, & 7
Preschool, Kindergarten, and grades 2 and 4
Any parent with concerns about their child can schedule a free individual hearing or vision screening appointment in our Benzie and Leelanau County offices. Please call Adriana at aloomis@bldhd.org to arrange an appointment.
