COVID-19 Vaccines Update

We are have purchased additional Covid-19 vaccine for the 2025-2026 season. Residents can schedule an appointment by calling 231-882-4409 ext 3. or contact a local pharmacy.

Current Recommendations:

Age 19–64 years

  • Unvaccinated:
    • 1 dose Moderna, or Pfizer-BioTech, or Novavax
  • Previously vaccinated before vaccine with:
    • 1 or more doses Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech: 1 dose Moderna or Novavax or Pfizer-BioNTech at least 8 weeks after the most recent dose.
    • 1 dose Novavax: 1 dose Novavax 3–8 weeks after most recent dose. If more than 8 weeks after most recent dose, administer 1 dose Moderna or Novavax or Pfizer-BioNTech.
    • 2 or more doses Novavax: 1 dose Moderna or Novavax or Pfizer-BioNTech at least 8 weeks after the most recent dose.
    • 1 or more doses Janssen: 1 dose Moderna or Novavax or Pfizer-BioNTech.

Age 65 years and older

  • Unvaccinated: follow recommendations above for unvaccinated persons ages 19–64 years and administer dose 2 of Moderna or Novavax or Pfizer-BioNTech 6 months later (minimum interval 2 months).
  • Previously vaccinated before vaccine: follow recommendations above for previously vaccinated persons ages 19–64 years and administer dose 2 of Moderna or Novavax or Pfizer-BioNTech 6 months later (minimum interval 2 months).

What Should Individuals Be Doing To Protect Themselves?

The best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 is to follow the same general guidelines to protect yourself from flu and other common illnesses.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water frequently, especially before eating, before touching your face/eyes/mouth, after coughing or sneezing, and after touching surfaces that have been touched by many others.  Wash for at least 20 seconds.  if soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Cover your cough/sneeze with a tissue
  • Clean frequently touched objects with regular household cleaners
  • Stay home if you are ill
  • Get Vaccinated when eligible
  • Wear a face mask indoors. Face Covering Guidance
